Chandeliers, landmarks of decadence for ages. Ballrooms enlighted with glitter
and glamour, beatiful people in beatiful clothes dancing away the night is a
correct association with these objects. But what if we define beauty in a
different way, for instance around a fire, chatting, laughing or making music?
With this object I tried to pull the chandelier out of its somewhat boring
surrounding, changing the original candles/light bulbs with easy-to-light
wooden logs, and the crystal by flames, so at last we can have a campfire in (a new) style.

I designed Flexilight out of sheer frustration. Having just moved to a new
house, I noticed that the place for electical appliances such as lighting, cable tv
ant telephone where already determined by the archtitect. If I wanted to do things
different, I would have to use ugly extension cords or demolish my walls putting a
new electrical network in it. Both were not really an option,
come to think of it: why do we design electrical appliances so elaborate and beatiful, but
never pay attention to the often ugly cords dangling from them? So I decided to do
it otherwise: an ultra-flat-ready-to-use solution, so you can define your own routes
of electricity through your house, using a decorative system to lay out your own “underground map” of
electricity. The layout througout the house is still in development, but here is a first product.
Based on low-voltage LED, you can safely lay out your own light, without having to use ugly cable.
You buy a basic set, based on connectable parts, and you can expand it endlessly, using as many lamps as desired.
Flexilight is available via me, just e-mail for price and info.

The vase light is meant to be an addition to your (undoubtedly) beautiful vase, full of beatiful flowers. The vase light will only work when you place in in water, just like your flowers. Based upon the shape of an ordinary table lamp, it creates a weird image of growing your own light.
